My name is Paola and I’m an equestrian. I did endurance for many, many years and hunter jumpers. I was relocating to High Springs and I needed a smaller barn that will fit the needs of my current horses. When I started the process, I took a lot of planning and the foremost important thing to me was safety. I was going to bring my horses, so that was the main thing for me, just safety.

There’s a lot of companies out there that do similar construction, but there’s not a lot of companies that really offer the full package in the full service from the slab up, from product design to window placement, door placement, a lot of those turnkey and customized features were difficult to find in some of the competitors to Nelson’s. It’s really what drew us to them.

Hey, my name is Christina. I’m a brand-new hobby farm owner thanks to Nelson, and I do lower-level eventing as an amateur.
We selected Nelson’s over the other competitors because we wanted something local with great customer reviews on Google and also something that was really transparent and honest from a pricing standpoint.
Our goal for 2024 was to have animals on our property in a beautiful, well-constructed barn, and Nelson’s totally delivered on that.
Customer service was also super, um, we got to interact with people in the office. Everyone was really friendly and kind and patient. I had a million questions that Nelson answered super quickly. There was never, you know, an unanswered text or an unanswered call. I never felt like my concerns or questions were, you know, brushed aside. I felt like they really wanted my barn to be my dream barn and not what they wanted.
There are a lot of steps that go into building a barn. We had to demolish a current building, we had to get site prep, we had to get cement. Nelson’s allowed me to install pretty much anything that was mechanically possible. We used old windows from our demolition project in the house. We had doors we bought from a local hardware store. They even facilitated some stall fronts that were being imported from Canada, which saved me a ton of money. So, we really liked that they didn’t kind of push necessarily their product to buy from them, and they were happy to install whatever.
So, I think the feature that we selected that we like the most is actually the lean-to on the end of the barn. Um, it keeps our horses happy and comfortable in bad weather, and it allows someone who’s not horsey, like my husband, to release them to the paddock at any time.
Overall, everything has been really great. Communication has been awesome. Everyone we worked with at Nelson’s has been kind and courteous and accommodating.
I think by far we were most pleased with the fact that there were no surprises. Budget is super, super important to us. The pricing being fair and honest and transparent was the most important thing to the family and to our project.
Nelson’s is professional, they’re proficient, they’re fair and honest. Everything was really transparent. We really appreciated the entire experience.
If you’re debating between Nelson’s and another company, I’d say go with your gut. Um, Nelson’s from the very start instilled confidence in me. I knew that they were honest people, they had fair pricing, they built a quality, affordable product, and we’re really happy we went with them.
